The Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan Citizens’ Development Initiatives, Inc. (KAAKBAY) will be participating in the 3rd Philippine Bird Festival organized by the Wild Bird Club of the Philippines (WBCP) headed by its President Mike Lu on September 21-22, 2007 in Cebu City.
KAAKBAY, as the convenor of the Philippine Duck Conservation Network, will still be highlighting the Philippine Duck Anas luzonica in the festival thru the following proposed undertakings:
1. 2nd Philippine Duck Forum – Powerpoint Presentations and Discussions
2. Philippine Duck Reference Book – Minutes of 1st Philippine Duck Forum, Other Information and Pictures
3. Photo and Information Exhibit
4. Video Documentary
5. Advocacy Materials – Posters, Brochures, Caps, Tshirts, Buttons
To be very effective in our advocacy, all of the above endeavors need beautiful pictures and video footages of the Philippine Duck, the only wild duck that is endemic in the Philippines but which is currently vulnerable in conservation status.
As such, may we humbly request you, as one of the leading photographers who have taken outstanding pictures of the Philippine Duck, to give us permission to use the Philippine Duck pictures you have already published in the internet or pictures which have not been posted at all.
If permitted, may we request that you email us various high resolution pictures of the Philippine Ducks that we may use in the powerpoints, reference book, photo exhibit, video documentary and advocacy materials which we will be producing for the festival and for the overall Philippine Duck conservation campaign.
Rest assured that we will properly acknowledge your name in these endeavors. We also assure you that the pictures you will be contributing will not be used for commercial purposes.
We do hope that we can have a working partnership with you towards the conservation of the Philippine Ducks, in particular, and of the other Philippine wildlife and environment, in general.
